Christopher Bell Stays Perfect at New Hampshire with Fourth Xfinity Series Win

The NASCAR Xfinity Sci Aps 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was plagued with weather early and cautions late, but the race resulted in the same _____ as the last three, a Christopher Bell win. Bell has won every Xfinity Series race at NHMS in his last four starts.

The final caution of a series of six set up an overtime finish with Cole Custer leading Christopher Bell and Sheldon Creed. On the final lap, both Creed and Bell were able to get around Custer by running low.

Creed, who restarted third and chose to start on the outside behind the winner, with one lap remaining, light contact was made between Creed and Custer, and the No. 00 car got loose and moved up the track, opening the door for both Creed and Bell to pass through.

"I feel so bad for Sheldon; he's been really, really close to winning these things, and today, he did everything right to win this race," Bell told NBC Sports. "He restarted in the right lane, gave Cole a good push, and then, coming to the white flag, he got Cole loose, and that's what opened the door for me."

This was Creed's 10th runner-up finish in the Xfinity Series as he continues to chase his first win.

Both Creed's pass on Custer and Bell's pass on Creed marked the first last-lap lead changes at New Hampshire in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Custer started on the front row for the final six cautions; he defended his lead on the final three. The point leader still hasn't secured a win in the 2024 season, and after his best performance of the year had to settle for a third-place finish.

"I'm going to relive that and what I could've done differently, defend more," Custer told NBC Sports.

When asked if the contact with the No. 18 was what cost Custer the race, he stated that Creed was just doing whatever he had to win, and if he was in the same position, he would've also tried to move the leader.

"I would've done the same thing. You're racing for the win, and it is what it is. It just stings; we had the best car all day."

Bell's win comes just one day after the driver landed in hot water for accidentally telling reporters that Chase Briscoe will join Joe Gibbs Racing in the No. 19 next year after Martin Truex Jr. retires. Briscoe is one of the four Stewart Haas Racing Cup Series drivers in a shuffle after the announcement of the shuttering of the racing team.

"Once I lost the track position, I was just another guy. I'm really fortunate to keep my winning streak alive."
