College basketball analyst Andy Katz ranks the Elite Eight teams

For the first time ever, the NCAA Tournament does not feature a No. 1 seed in the Elite Eight.

One of the eight remaining head coaches will cut down the nets in the national championship for the first time ever. Texas’ Rodney Terry is the first interim head coach to reach the Elite Eight since 1989.

No. 2 Texas is coming off a dominant win over No. 3 Xavier on Friday evening. The Longhorns led by double-digits for the majority of the game and had several players step up in place of the injured Dylan Disu.

There were a couple more upsets throughout the Sweet 16 on Friday also. No. 1 Alabama and No. 1 Houston were each eliminated, paving the way for No. 5 San Diego State and No. 5 Miami to the Elite Eight.
