Traffic flowing again after collision involving 3 big rigs on eastbound I-10 near Whitewater

A collision involving three big rigs on Interstate 10 eastbound in Whitewater was cleared at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, according to California Highway Patrol Spokesperson Jason Montez, allowing the resumption of normal traffic flows.

The crash was reported 8:05 a.m. west of Haugen Lehmann Way. The California Highway Patrol reported three big rigs involved in the accident, with one party trapped. That person was extricated from their vehicle at 8:39 a.m.

The CHP traffic incident information page reported that a semi rear-ended another semi, and that slabs of granite from one vehicle ended up on the roadway.
