Classic Beauty: The 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe.

Step back in time and behold the timeless beauty of the 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe. This remarkable car, distributed through Porsche Cars Northwest of Beaverton, Oregon, holds a rich history and has recently emerged from a decades-long slumber. With its striking Light Ivory exterior and an array of notable features, this vintage Porsche is a true gem for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

According to records, this particular 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe was delivered new to Westside Volkswagen/Porsche in Portland in September 1966. Its original owner, captivated by its allure, placed the car in storage in 1971. For over four decades, it remained hidden from the world until it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2018. Later that year, the current owner took possession and embarked on a meticulous mechanical refurbishment that breathed new life into this automotive icon.

Under the hood, the aluminum-case flat-six engine received a comprehensive overhaul, featuring the installation of 2.2-liter pistons and cylinders. Accompanied by the rebuilding of the Weber 40IDS 3C carburetors, oil cooler, alternator, and distributor, the engine now exudes power and reliability. Dick Elverud, a respected marque specialist, lent his expertise to the project, installing replacement valves, springs, and retainers. The engine hardware was re-plated with a cadmium finish, showcasing the commitment to preserving authenticity.

The exterior of the 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe is a sight to behold. The Light Ivory paint (6604) accentuates the car's elegant curves, complemented by body-color bumpers, chrome bumperettes with rubber strips, and iconic gold decklid badging. Hella fog lights and a Talbot driver's side mirror add a touch of character. While some imperfections and stone chips can be seen, they serve as a testament to the car's history and authenticity.

Equipped with 15×4.5" Fuchs wheels wrapped in Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires, this Porsche exudes a sporty yet classic presence. The suspension components underwent a thorough refurbishment, including powder-coating, replacement bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and the rebuilding of the Koni shocks. Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, overhauled and refinished by PMB Performance, provide precise and confident stopping power.

Slip inside the cockpit, and you'll be enveloped by the elegance of black leatherette bucket seats, accented by color-coordinated door panels and rear seating surfaces. The interior exudes vintage charm, featuring aluminum dash and door panel trim, fold-down rear seats, and front lap belts. While the five-digit odometer reads 75,000 miles, a mere 300 miles were added under the current ownership, ensuring the preservation of its heritage.

The restored four-spoke steering wheel, wrapped in leather, frames the central tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, combination gauges, and a clock. All of these instruments were serviced during the refurbishment, reflecting the attention to detail bestowed upon this classic Porsche.

This 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe is not only a remarkable example of automotive history but also a recognized participant in the esteemed Arizona Concours d'Elegance, where it secured second place in the preservation class in 2023. The car comes complete with a copy of the Kardex, service records, Arizona Concours d'Elegance awards, and a clean Oregon title.
