Conor Daly, who has split the last two NTT IndyCar Series seasons shuttling between the Carlin and Ed Carpenter Racing teams, will have one destination on race day in 2022.
Ed Carpenter Racing has announced that Daly, 30, will be the full-time driver of the No. 20 Chevrolet. Daly's ride will be sponsored by BitNile. According to ECR, BitNile Holdings, Inc. is "a diversified holding company specializing in disruptive technologies, including cryptocurrencies and innovations in the field of Decentralized Finance."
With the deal, Daly will get a chance to race the full NTT IndyCar Series season for a third consecutive season. Daly finished 18th in the driver standings in 2021 after finishing 17th in 2020.
WE’RE BACK! Incredibly proud to announce my return to full time @IndyCar racing with ONE team @ECRIndy! So thankful for our new partners @BitNile @ToddAultIII, I would not be here without them. Means so much to have my first ever multi year deal in place. Let’s get to work! $NILE pic.twitter.com/RW7npXt4cW

Daly will team with fellow third-year ECR driver Rinus VeeKay, who remains in the No. 21 Chevrolet. Team owner Carpenter, a three-time Indianapolis 500 pole winner, plans to join the two full-time drivers for a three-car ECR effort for the Indianapolis 500. The team has yet to commit to Carpenter's participation in other ovals this season.
"Being chosen to represent BitNile is without a doubt one of the most important opportunities of my career," Daly said. "This is an incredible partnership that we look forward to being able to strengthen and grow as we go after race wins together. To be able to come back to Ed Carpenter Racing for the full season is incredible.
"I haven’t had the chance to be with one team for the entire year since 2017, so this is something I am very, very thankful for. I have a lot of faith in ECR and each year we continue to get better together. I couldn’t be more excited to get on track in the BitNile Chevrolet."
Daly's last full season with a single team came with A.J. Foyt Racing in 2017.
