All Aston Martin V8 Zagatos are rare, since only 52 coupés and 37 convertibles were built. Yet, this Fury Yellow over black 1989 Volante is extra special, as it's the only left-hand drive V8 Zagato convertible ordered with the X-Pack engine. And almost three decades after it was built, it's more desirable than ever.

The X-pack was a pricey upgrade at the time, but somebody in continental Europe decided that after going for yellow paint, the car also deserved an engine with an enlarged carb throttle diameter, a larger airbox and a sport exhaust for a peak output of 432 horsepower. That was good enough for 183 miles per hour flat out once the black mohair roof was up.

Inside, the stripped back Zagato interior features dark wood fascia highlights as well as the thickest leathers Aston Martin could find in the late eighties. An automatic gearbox was optional too, but luckily, this buyer chose a five-speed manual. This Zagato is everything you want from a classic Aston, and much more.

With less than 8000 miles on its clock, RM Sotheby's estimates this unique car to sell for at least half a million dollars on May 27th at Villa Erba by Lake Como.
