This Daily-Driven Lamborghini Murcielago Has Over 250,000 Miles

From Road & Track

As enthusiasts, we like to tell ourselves we'd daily-drive a supercar given the opportunity. But in reality, most people who own such expensive machines tuck them away for sunny weekends and special events. This Lamborghini owner, though, has no problem daily-driving his Murcielago year-round.

The Murcielago, a mid-engine supercar powered by a 571-horsepower 6.2-liter V12, isn't really what you'd expect from an ideal daily. Nonetheless, Simon, the owner who lives in England, has had no problem racking up over 258,000 miles on his Murcielago, driving it rain or shine on his 180-mile commute every day.

Unfortunately, back in 2012, the car lost control on track and slammed into an oak tree, damaging several body panels and bending the frame. That didn't deter Simon, however. He sent the car to a frame-straightening machine, and had it all sorted out. After an engine and transmission rebuild, the car is as good as new, if you can believe it.

Simon plans on continuing to pilot the quarter-million dollar two-seater to work everyday, aiming to hit 300,000 miles within a year.
