Daniel Ricciardo Breaks Wrist in Bizarre F1 CrashLars Baron

Oscar Piastri stuffed his McLaren into the barriers around Zandvoort's banked left-hander during Free Practice 2 on Friday ahead of this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix. Moments later, Daniel Ricciardo crashed just behind him, and broke his wrist in the process. It is a tough setback for a driver making his comeback into F1.

You can see the full double-wreck here on F1's FP2 highlights video. It's strange that the two drivers would crash at the same spot in the same corner at the same time, but F1 is full of strange circumstances:

Ricciardo is making his return to F1 after sitting out the 2022 season. The former Red Bull Racing driver now has a seat with junior team Alpha Tauri, though that position is one he is giving up for at least this weekend. Liam Lawson will replace him, reports.
