The DB6 Is an Aston Martin Too Good for James Bond

From Road & Track

The DB6 was the last David Brown car before Astons got too big for their own good, and the man who used a Jaguar XJ Series 1 as his personal car sold off the company to minimize his losses.

It used an all-aluminum, dual-overhead cam straight-six engine, paired with a ZF 5-Speed or a Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic. This 4-liter produced 325 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, making the DB6 one of the fastest cars money could buy. It got to 60mph in seven seconds even if you screwed up a gearshift.

Hardcore Aston Martin fanatics can always go for an early fifties works DB car with a thick book worth of history, while billionaires should have no problem forking out the figures attached to the DB5, James Bond's famous companion. But those in the know will save some gas money, and after realizing what a difference a single model year makes, settle for a nice DB6. With the five-speed, of course.
