This Dinalpin A110 Is the Hot Rod Renault Alpine of Mexico

From Road & Track

Don't let the cheeky styling and three-lug wheels fool you, this Dinalpin A110 is an angry little rally racer for the street. You might be wondering what a Dinalpin is, and you wouldn't be alone-the owner of this particular car didn't know what it was until he bought it. It's a Renault Alpine A110 built under license by the DINA company in Mexico, hence the name Dinalpin.

Our friends at Petrolicious profiled this Franco-Mexican oddball and its owner, Jack Griffith, in their latest video. Griffiths always wanted an Alpine and was lucky enough to find this exceedingly rare Mexican version for sale in South Carolina.

He restored the car and then turned it into a hot rod with some choice drivetrain parts from the Renault Alpine parts bin. Originally, the motor produced around 60 horsepower, but the Alpine modifications turned it into an angry 120-horse nutball. With only 1500 lbs of car to push around, this motor is well beyond adequate.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to check listings for an A110 of my own.
