We don’t see many underglow kits these days even though thanks to LED lighting technology they’re easier to install and are more durable than those kits of yesteryear. Then we ran across this video of a Dodge Challenger with a purple underglow kit turned on leading Arkansas troopers on a chase that punches past 150 mph, it’s just amazing.

Stop driving all the time with your fog lights on.

You see the Challenger trailing another car it’s “racing” on the interstate in Little Rock, Arkansas. They blast down the left lane right past a trooper in the center and the chase is on. We can’t imagine why the trooper fixates on the Mopar that’s putting out extra purple light under its chassis and not the lead vehicle.

The suspects are going so fast that even as the trooper hits speeds near 150 mph they’re nowhere to be seen for a bit. Then the taillights of the Challenger come into view. Keep in mind the dashcam doesn’t focus as well as human eyes, so the trooper probably had a fix on them before then.

Smartly, the Mopar muscle car doesn’t have that pretty underglow kit switched on anymore. Guess he realized those lights make him stand out, but so does blasting down the interstate at 150 mph. Still, the guy keeps pushing it, weaving through the semis and other traffic on the highway in a desperate attempt to lose the ASP trooper.

Like a dog chasing a rabbit, the trooper stays dialed in on the suspect who uses superior performance to outpace his pursuer. At one point, a semi driver not paying attention almost ends the chase by cutting in front of the ASP cruiser. Brilliant.

Thankfully the trooper is able to snatch his fat out of the fire and continue the chase. His pushing bears fruit after the Challenger takes an exit, then tries blending in with the heavier traffic. That doesn’t fool the trooper at all.

Getting a better look at this Challenger, we see it’s a Widebody with some rather… interesting cosmetic enhancements, like the cheese shredder rear window slats and monster claw mark decals around both headlights. Somehow, with the underglow kit, it all makes sense.
