As we’ve shown before, many crossover accidents on highways leave drivers with maybe a couple of seconds to react. Most people panic and do something drastic, often making the situation worse. But this ambulance driver when faced with a Dodge Charger rolling toward him kept his cool to avoid a collision.

C7 Corvette crashes dramatically in Miami.

You can see in the footage the white Mopar comes rolling over the median on I-95 in Massachusetts during a winter storm. It happens right after the median barrier ends, with the driver only having literally two seconds to make a decision.

As the Charger rolls into the left lane, the ambulance driver could’ve veered left, hoping the wreck would be clear by the time he arrived, veered right, hoping, the Dodge wouldn’t flip into the ambulance, or hit the brakes and hoped he stopped in time despite the wet and possibly icy pavement.

He chose in a split second to veer right and that was the right decision, as he told WCVB in an interview. That quick thinking save everyone from a high-speed crash which might have involved serious injuries or more.

Instead, the report indicates not only was everyone in the ambulance okay, which was transporting a patient to the hospital, the driver of the Dodge Charger somehow wasn’t hurt in the rollover. Considering how bad it looked, that’s amazing.

This is why we tell people constantly they can’t zone out or just not pay attention while driving. Some think if they’re on the highway and there’s little traffic around and the road is relatively straight, they don’t have to be watching for dangers. But this and similar videos should prove that absolutely isn’t the case.
