Now that the Dodge Charger and Challenger models are no longer in production, the full-size Durango SUV remains the sole Hemi-powered Mopar product. As the SUV enters its final calendar year in 2024, Stellantis announced Wednesday it's bringing back the Last Call treatment with the new 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI.

Production of the Durango at Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex is officially slated to end at the end of 2024, with the new AlcHEMI model acting as the first Last Call model arriving this year. Most of these special edition machines will carry a 2025 model year designation, but don’t let that confuse you about the SUV’s fate. This particularly special edition is based on the potent SRT 392 model, which comes equipped with the 6.4-liter Apache V-8 engine. The big Hemi produces 475 hp and 470 lb-ft in Durango spec, allowing the truck to hit 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. Unique AlcHEMI content includes exterior stripes with yellow-accent borders, a set of 20-inch SRT wheels, yellow brake calipers to match the stripes, and a set of blacked-out exhaust tips out back.

Inside the AlcHEMI, you’ll find a similar treatment with loads of yellow accents and silver stitching. Seatbacks feature the SRT logo, finished in yellow and silver. An upgraded leather and suede steering wheel will make things feel a bit more sporty, as will the forged carbon fiber accents throughout.

“Just as we did with the Dodge Charger and Challenger, it’s time to celebrate the V-8 HEMI engine that has powered Dodge domination of the performance SUV segment,” said Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis. “Special-edition ‘Last Call’ models of the Durango will roll out during 2024 as we honor the most powerful SUV ever.”

Production of the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is limited to just 1000 units, with production slated to begin in April. Dealer allocations are being divided out based on January sales performance, so you’ll have to use the Dodge Horsepower Locator tool to track one down. That information should be available in February, with actual vehicle deliveries targeting May. We can’t wait to see the other Hemi and Hellcat V-8-powered Durangos we’ll be getting in 2024.
