  • The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody inspired NHRA champion Matt Hagan's new 11,000-hp Funny Car.

  • Its unique graphics imitate the production sedan's widebody package, which features flared fenders and other exterior updates.

  • Hagan's Hellcat-inspired Funny Car will make its debut at the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Colorado on the weekend of July 19–21.

There's now a version of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat that makes 11,000 horsepower, except it's not sold in dealer showrooms or street legal. This nuclear-powered Hellcat is actually an NHRA Funny Car that wears graphics inspired by the 2020 Charger's new widebody variant.

The special aesthetic includes the widebody Charger's freshly flared fenders and other exterior calling cards, such as the grille's demonic nostrils and the sweeping indent on the side surfacing. Much like many consumer-bound Mopar products, the Funny Car also wears more stickers and decals than a middle schooler's locker. These include black stripes that run from stem to stern and countless callouts to Dodge and SRT. There's even a large image of the Hellcat logo on the car's rear quarters.

While these graphics give Matt Hagan's NHRA Funny Car an extra-aggressive appearance, that's where the similarities with the Charger SRT Hellcat end. It would take nearly 11 707-hp Hellcat sedans to equal the Funny Car's 11,000 horses. The regular Charger SRT Hellcat is still one of the fastest and most powerful four-doors on the planet, with a claimed top speed of 196 mph.

Hagan, a two-time NHRA champion, will run the widebody-inspired Funny Car this weekend at Bandimere Speedway near Denver, Colorado. The race is part of the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals that will be held from July 19 to July 21.

Meanwhile, the public can start ordering copies of the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody and Scat Pack Widebody this fall. Dodge says dealerships should start receiving the cars in early 2020.
