Driving a 700 Horsepower Acura TL Is Understandably Insane

From Road & Track

The third-generation Acura TL is probably one of the best looking sedans Honda's given us over the years. It had clean, sharp looks, joined by faithful Honda reliability and decent performance. While you may see a nicely-modified Type S once in awhile, you've probably never laid eyes on one this wild.

Thanks to a Rotrex supercharger, this TL's fully built 3.5-liter V6 now sends over 700 horsepower to the front wheels. It runs on E85 gasoline, and the transmission even has a couple of straight cut gears. The entire car has been gone over, with highly tuned suspension and big Brembo brakes. Andy, the owner, also took out most of the interior to shave more than 300 lbs. of weight.

As nice as the Acura TL is, it's rare to see one built to make Hellcat power. We're not complaining, though, because the end result is nothing short of absurd. With that much power traveling to the front wheels, even a limited-slip differential can't hold back the constant torque steer that Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire has to deal with in his latest One Take.

Take a look as he brings this Acura onto the track and see what it's like to drive a family sedan that can out-muscle a Z06.
