This E30 BMW M3 Will Sell for $1 Million, Probably

From Road & Track

Over the last several years, the E30-generation BMW 3 Series has gained a cult following in the industry. And no E30 has more of a cult following than the E30 M3. That's because in 1985, BMW turned its humble 3-Series into an all-conquering racer, and created a brilliant race car for the streets in the process.

As enthusiasts have started to realize how awesome that is, they've begun adding E30 M3s to their collections. Because of that, prices have skyrocketed. Just two years ago, it would have sounded ridiculous to pay $50,000 for a 30-year-old M3, but at this point, the sky is the limit.

And with only a few thousand still available, there's literally zero risk. Bursting collector bubbles are for cars like Porsche's air-cooled 911s. E30 M3s are totally different.

This particular car is especially valuable because it has virtually zero miles on it. It also spent most of its life in Japan where it almost assuredly taught GT-Rs and Skylines what a real race car looks like. The interior is also basically flawless, and of course it's got a stick because what classic race car doesn't?

As cool and neat as an E30 M3 like this is, be ready to write a big check if you want to own it. Our experts fully expect this gem to probably sell for a full million dollars. Anything less than that would be a steal.
