From Road & Track

This silver Evora was converted to electric drive using a Tesla Model S powertrain and two Chevrolet Volt batteries. Since this Canadian project broke a dyno, it's been coming along very nicely, with the car missing only some racing brakes, the power steering system and a few days of development on the track. Oh, and an insulated carbon fiber firewall. Apart from those, Blue Lightning is up and running, doing all the Jetson sounds while trying to break some necks ending in brains surprised by the crazy torque output.

The most powerful and quickest Lotus ever made, the new Evora 410 has that exact amount of horses, plus 310 lb-ft of torque that doesn't have much weight to carry.

Packed with two Chevy Volt battery packs and all the hardware that makes a Tesla so fast off the line, the Blue Lightning obviously weighs more than a stock Evora, but the conversion didn't make this small mid-engined car crowded inside. Blue Lightning has around 460 horsepower and a whole lot more torque from zero rpm, as well as two water-cooling circuits, a digital dash with all the info you'll ever need, and some nicely integrated OEM features.

The traction control still works, and Pirelli's stickiest tires must be very grateful for that. Electric vehicles can be violently quick in a straight line, and the Blue Lightning is no different. It cruises nicely and has a range of around 125 miles, but when you want to get on it, it takes off. Don't be shocked.
