The 2016’s model's flat-six engines have been replaced by a pair of turbocharged flat-fours. Both are powerful and willing performers, although they don’t offer the great sound of the previous six-cylinder versions.

What’s New for 2018?

The new-for-2018 GTS model ekes out an extra 15 horsepower from the Cayman S’s 2.5-liter flat-four for a total of 365. Our test vehicle, equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, managed a quick 4.1-second zero-to-60-mph run, but our automatic-equipped 2017 Cayman S still outperformed it at our test track.
