Billed as the world's first all-electric premium MPV, Mercedes-Benz's Concept EQV–based on the V-class van sold in Europe–made its debut today at the Geneva auto show. Mercedes-Benz says this concept previews the production version of the EQV, which the company plans to unveil at the Frankfurt auto show in September.

The van boasts a range of up to 249 miles thanks to a 100.0-kWh battery.

A rapid-charging feature is said to juice the battery with up to 62 miles of range in just 15 minutes, and the 201-hp electric motor can propel the boxy Benz to a top speed of 99 mph.

The exterior and interior styling borrow heavily from the regular V-class, but details such as the headlamps, grille, and blue accents used throughout the design echo that of the brand's upcoming EQC crossover.

Inside, the Concept EQV is shown with a six-passenger VIP seating arrangement, but the company says the van can be configured to seat up to eight people.

Mercedes-Benz's latest MBUX infotainment and voice recognition system is onboard, and the van's navigation system considers the battery's range when providing directions.

Buyers of the production model can expect vast cargo space that is uninterrupted by a battery pack, thanks to the battery's location under the floor.

Dark-blue upholstery with rose-gold-colored stitching covers the seats and dash top, while matching trim throughout the cabin ties the interior together.

There's no telling when the EQV might go on sale, how much it will cost when it does, or if such a model will make its way to our shores.
Mercedes-Benz - 10/11
We hope it does, as the thought of an all-electric Mercedes-Benz luxury van is almost too much for our van-loving hearts to take.
