The A3 convertible is slightly shorter in both length and height than the sedan, and both are very close in size to the BMW 2-series, which is the most direct size comparison in this set. The Lexus IS is almost 10 inches longer than the A3, but since that difference doesn’t gain IS owners more rear-seat space or a significantly larger cargo hold, we hesitate to call it an advantage for the Lexus.
