Exterior Design and Dimensions
Exterior Design and Dimensions Rating:
To stand out in a segment of expressive subcompact crossovers, the Kona wears a charmingly zany ensemble. Its diminutive dimensions make it easy to maneuver, and among its rivals it’s one of the trimmest.
Exterior Dimensions
The Kona is squat and low-slung, at least for a crossover, and its compact measurements are accentuated by narrow LED running lights at the hood’s leading edge and a slim plastic trim piece that separates the roof from the rear pillar.

Exterior Features
The Kona’s styling somehow combines many daring details into one cohesive look. Dramatic front-lighting elements, thick SUV-style plastic cladding, and bright jewel-like taillights contribute to the Kona’s bold look. Although it is striking in any of the available colors, it’s downright audacious when draped in the chartreuse hue of our test vehicle. It definitely turned heads in and around our Ann Arbor, Michigan, editorial headquarters. All Kona models come with aluminum wheels, but in our opinion, the snazzy rollers on the Limited and Ultimate trims look the best. A power tilt-and-slide sunroof is standard on both the Limited and Ultimate trims but is also optional on the SEL trim as a part of the $1500 Tech package.
