An Extremely Fleeting Glimpse of Faraday Future's Electric Minivan

From Road & Track

It's an alluring setup: A camouflaged test vehicle being flogged around a desert race track. Tension is high. The long, panning camera angles highlight the lurid speed and high stakes.

Our hero car careens around a bend. Our glimpse is fleeting, tantalizingly brief. Is it the Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera? The upcoming Porsche 911 GT2? The long-rumored mid-engined Corvette?

Nah. This is Faraday Future's upcoming electric car. And not even the startup's 1000-horsepower freakazoid concept. This is probably-self-driving, definitely-silent four-door crossover thing.

Faraday just published this exceedingly short sneak peek of its prototype in desert testing. Like the spy photos that our pals at Car and Driver published last month, this video shows a family-size vehicle with CUV-ish proportions. The camouflage hides most of the details, what few there are. All we know is, it's a rather soap-bar-shaped thing, likely with room for three rows of seats.

Hey, at least Faraday's having a little fun with this teaser. "Can't hear the engine? You're not supposed to." Indeed.
