The Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix was a ratings hit for ABC TV.

The race won by McLaren's Lando Norris set a record for a U.S. television audience for an F1 race. Race-only viewership averaged 3.1 million U.S. viewers, topping the previous high mark of 2.6 million set at the inaugural F1 Miami Grand Prix in 2022.

The 3.1 million viewers, which peaked at 3.6 million, easily topped the average 2.1 million viewers from last year's Miami race.

Meanwhile, the 30-minute Sprint Race on Saturday averaged 946,000 viewers on ESPN, the largest audience for a Sprint race since F1 began those races at select events in 2021. The previous record U.S. viewership for an F1 Sprint race was 883,000 for Azerbaijan in 2023.

This year's F1 Miami Grand Prix attracted an event-record 275,000 fans for the three-day race weekend. That topped the previous record of 270,000 fans set last year. The inaugural Miami Grand Prix in 2022 attracted 230,000 fans.
