Feast Your Eyes on the Honda Civic Hatchback's Undisguised Rear End

From Road & Track

We've been looking forward to the Honda Civic hatchback ever since the company confirmed it would come to the States. Just a few days ago, we got our first look at a spy shot of the production version, but now more images have leaked out.

The CivicX forum posted these photos, which appear to show the production Civic hatchback undisguised. Compared to the concept we saw, it's definitely toned down, but there haven't been any major design changes. The front end, meanwhile, doesn't appear to differ from the sedan.

For shoppers in search of a little extra practicality, the arrival of the five-door Civic is great news. But it also means we're one step closer to Honda revealing what we really want to see-the Civic Type R. We've already seen it testing at the Nurburgring, and it's rumored to have 340 horsepower.

We'll be looking for the go-fast version of the hatchback at the Paris Motor Show in October.
