Ferrari Enzo Crashed While Being Delivered to Its Owner

The owner anticipating delivery of a recently-purchased Ferrari Enzo got some bad news this week after it crashed on the U.K. island of Jersey.

The Enzo, reportedly registered to someone on the neighboring island of Guernsey, was traveling on one of Jersey’s main thoroughfares Thursday morning when it collided with a Honda Jazz, the European market name for the Fit.

According to the Jersey Evening Post, a delivery driver was at the wheel at the time of the crash. A witness to the Thursday morning incident said that the supercar hit a median as a result of the collision and spun out, settling on the other side of the road. It’s unclear when the Jazz became involved.

Photos taken at the scene show that the left side of the supercar sustained most of the damage, with much of the rear left bodywork ripped off. The rear also looks smashed up. A view inside the driver’s side butterfly door shows the airbags deployed.

Only 400 examples of the Enzo were produced from 2002 to 2004. It sold for $659,000 new and has been retailing in the $2 million range lately. The rear-wheel-drive supercaer is equipped with a naturally aspirated V-12 that can put out 651 horsepower, though the full force of that power was likely not in use on the 40 mph road where the incident occurred.

The owner of the Enzo has yet to be identified, though they’re probably very upset.
