Yahoo Autos A Ferrari FXX K Track Day Sounds Heavenly
One of the perks of owning a Ferrari FXX model is the track days. Since FXX cars, like the LaFerrari-based FXX K, aren't street legal, Ferrari takes over tracks around the world to host special, private lap day events where owners can push their cars to the limit. As this clip demonstrates, these track days sound like heaven.
This video comes to us from Italy's Mugello Circuit, where Ferrari recently held an event for owners of various FXX models as well as vintage race cars. A handful of FXX Ks got out on track all at once and the results are, unsurprisingly, mesmerizing.
We've seen even bigger collections of FXX Ks on track together at previous events, but that doesn't diminish how great this particular clip is. The FXX K's big 6.3-liter, 849-horsepower naturally aspirated V12 is possibly one of the greatest sounding engines ever made. It certainly puts modern F1 cars to shame.
Listening to this symphony of greatness, we're glad Ferrari is sticking with naturally aspirated V12s for the time being. Other engine configurations may provide the power and response, but none can match the Ferrari V12's noise.
