From Road & Track

Aston Martin has been very busy lately. Not only did they come up with a crazy track special and a brand new V12 for their equally fresh flagship, the British also secured AMG's V8s for their smaller models, started a hybrid hypercar project with Red Bull Racing and it's no secret that they are also working on more than one four-door electric car. In the middle of this comes Max Szwaj who, after spending almost six years at FCA on the Ferrari/Maserati side of the business, has joined Aston as CTO.

Aston's new Chief Technical Officer will head engineering and report directly to CEO Andy Palmer, who's "delighted" about Szwaj's arrival. This is hardly surprising given that the company's former product development director left to work on Dyson's secret car project two months ago.

Ferraris might all go hybrid by 2019, but by then Szway's team is likely to deliver Aston's first fully electric car, following Jaguar, who'll put the i-Pace into production by 2018.
