A Fiat 500 with a Big Turbo Swap Makes for a Better Abarth

From Road & Track

If you're looking for a fun city car, there aren't many out there that are more of a hoot than the Fiat 500 Abarth. In its base form the 500 does a fine job of being small and maneuverable, but springing for the sportiest version gets you a good boost in power and a huge boost in sound. However. . . can you build a better version yourself?

The owner of the car in this video certainly tried. He swapped in a bigger turbocharger, improved both the brakes and the suspension, and added an aftermarket exhaust. The result? A tuned Fiat 500 that looks outstanding.

Even for a guy who admits he's not a big fan of Abarths, you can see Matt Farah has a blast behind the wheel. Add in an enthusiastic owner who really knows his stuff, and this One Take is definitely worth a look.
