At the drag strip, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is one of the quickest production cars off the line ever. But at FCA’s Brampton assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, this particular black-and-yellow Demon took its sweet time peacocking off the line. The final Demon built, it’s set to be auctioned for charity in June, together with the last fifth-gen Viper produced.

Dodge made history last year not only for the longest media teaser rollout of all time but for building an 840-hp (on 100-octane gas) drag-race-focused monster that can be driven to the track. Under the hood is a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 that Dodge calls the most powerful factory-installed eight-cylinder offered in a production car. With the help of 14.5 psi of boost, standard drag radials, and the first transmission brake on a production car, it is claimed to be capable of a 9.65-second quarter-mile in perfect conditions and pulling 1.80 g at launch. At $86,340, the Demon was one of the great power bargains, but it has officially come to a close after 3300 units during its single production year.

Although it rolled off the line on May 30, #3300 is not out of the hands of FCA just yet. It awaits new clothes at an unnamed upfit center. There, it will receive a hand-painted Viper Red exterior, 18-inch aluminum wheels, 18-inch Demon drag radial tires, Demon badging, and a unique VIN instrument-panel badge. From there, it will be headed to Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, for the Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction held from June 20 to June 23.

A vehicle as special as the Demon is worthy of a special auction, which is why FCA created one called The Ultimate Last Chance. This single lot will include not only the Demon but also the final 2017 Viper built. With a VIN ending in 731948, the special Viper (if it turns out not to be the last ever Viper, it’s still likely to be the final snake with a V-10) was built in Detroit in August 2017 and wears a Viper Red coat meant to honor the original, first-generation RT/10. In addition, the Demon comes with the now famed Demon Crate, and both cars come with authentication kits.

All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the United Way, so buyers don’t have to feel entirely selfish for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a couple of hot cars. But just like the cars up for auction, the buyer will need to be quick on the draw and have big numbers, particularly lots of zeros, ready to fire off.
