Like most of the owners that Petrolicious features, Jean-Luc Outreille grew up in a car family. The way he tells it, he was destined to have an interest in cars.

When he was young, his father ran a gas station, which meant he was always surrounded by automobiles. Meanwhile, one grandfather worked as a mechanic for various automakers, and the other was an executive chauffeur. As a child, his family also took him to a variety of racetracks-from Chimay to Spa-Francorchamps and even Nivelles-Baulers.

But while his family mostly drove sedans, Outreille says the car that always caught his attention was a coupe. Specifically, the Bertone-styled Alfa Romeo GTA. Due to their generally poor condition, though, he could never justify buying one. Until he saw his perfect car in an online ad.

It was a 1968 Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior in Ochre yellow. Once he laid eyes on it, he says he couldn't resist. Outreille finally fulfilled the dream he'd had since the 1970s. He became a 1300 Junior owner.
