The First-Ever Production Ferrari Sergio For Sale

Last summer, we told you about the first production Ferrari Sergio after it popped up for sale at James Edition carrying a price tag of $5 million. It's unclear where the car ended up going, but that ad has since disappeared. Now, it's for sale again, this time through RM Sotheby's Monaco auction next month.

This Sergio is the first of six examples produced, and debuted the Pininfarina design to the public at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. According to RM Sotheby's, it was then delivered to its Swiss owner, and has since driven less than 200 km (124 miles) in total.

Back in 2013, Ferrari unveiled the Pininfarina Sergio, a roofless concept car built as a tribute to designer Sergio Pininfarina, who passed away in 2012. Ferrari later put the car into production, albeit with a few more creature comforts (like a windshield). It uses 458 Spider underpinnings, and the engine from the 458 Speciale. All six units were quickly scooped up, but this one seems to keep appearing online for sale again and again.

Considering the rarity of the Sergio and this particular car's history, we'd say it's worth a pretty penny. RM doesn't list an estimate price on its site, but we wouldn't be surprised if Sergio #1 rose well past the seven-figure mark.
