From Road & Track

Flyin' Miata is famous for building some of the most comprehensive V8-swapped Miatas on the planet. They've done everything from NA to ND, and even offer a V8 swap kit for the Fiat 124 Spider. But V8 implants aren't the only things Flyin' Miata does.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

If you'd rather not spend tens of thousands of dollars on a Flyin' Miata V8 swap, the Colorado-based company offers Miata turbo and supercharger kits as well. They've even played around with the idea of twin-charging the ND's engine. A well-built 1991 Miata equipped with the company's turbo package just popped up for sale on Flyin' Miata's site, and you should buy it.

According to the ad, the owner of this British Racing Green Miata commissioned a substantial refresh consisting of Flyin' Miata's full turbo kit, along with a host of suspension and body improvements. Forcing air into the freshly resealed 1.6-liter inline-four is a Garrett 2554R turbo, nudging the tiny motor to a claimed 205 horsepower at the wheels (more than double the stock output). The radiator, catalytic converters, spark plugs, oil lines, and injectors have all been upgraded to keep up with all the extra power.

The brake system has been rebuilt, and the differential has been replaced with a Torsen limited-slip unit from an NB. The suspension is all-new as well, with Tokico Illumina shocks, Flyin' Miata springs, and upgraded sway bars. All the leather inside the car has been replaced with new, genuine material. The only thing hinting that this isn't a factory-stock NA Miata is the glovebox-mounted air-fuel-ratio gauge.

The car is located in Western Maine with an asking price of just $15,000. The sale will include all stock parts (aside from the exhaust) and a color-matched hardtop. If you're looking for a fun, vintage two-seater this summer-one with a healthy boost in power-this seems like a no-brainer.
