The Ford Bronco Sport Getting a Black Diamond Off-Road Package

The Ford Bronco Sport is already more than capable enough to live up to its Bronco family branding. However, the Compact Crossover That Could had some room for improvement, so Ford has added an additional off-roading package for the 2023 model year. Like the bigger Bronco SUV, the Bronco Sport is getting a Black Diamond package.

The trim, announced Tuesday, is available on Big Bend and Outer Banks edition Bronco Sports, two mid-level trims. It is highlighted by four steel bash plates to provide added underbody protection, including a front skid plate and fuel tank shielding. The package also adds unique 17-inch gray wheels, which fit all-terrain tires.

To add some character, the Black Diamond package also brings aggressive graphics to the Bronco Sport. Massive matte black graphics on the hood are the highlight, but the package also includes graphics further down on the body with Bronco lettering. The Black Diamond package is already available to order as part of the car's 2023 model year.

Additionally, Ford says that it is expanding participation in its Bronco Off-Roadeo program for new Bronco Sport buyers. The official off-roading program was previously only available to Bronco Sport Badlands buyers, but Ford claims that "nearly 90 percent" of Bronco Sport buyers who attend an Off-Roadeo event are likely to go off-roading again. Ford is also expanding the Off-Roadeo program by adding winter weekends to its Texas and Moab programs.
