These high-performance crossovers may sit atop the fast list, but they’re at the bottom of the fuel-efficient one. Still, their EPA estimates are higher than the rivals listed here, and the Turbo S we tested had the highest real-world highway fuel economy and highway range.

What’s New for 2018?

The Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S see no changes to their EPA fuel-economy ratings for 2018, and we don’t expect their real-world efficiency to differ either.

We’ve devised our own fuel-economy test in an attempt to replicate how most people drive on the highway. Our procedure entails a 200-mile out-and-back loop on Michigan’s I-94 highway. We maintain a GPS-verified 75 mph and use the cruise control as much as possible to mimic the way many drivers behave during long trips.
