Fuel Economy and Driving Range
Fuel Economy and Driving Range Rating:
No vehicle in this class even approaches a number that could be considered to be fuel efficient, and the Range Rover Sport Supercharged slightly underperformed its rating in our highway fuel-economy test.
What’s New for 2018?
The EPA has significantly increased the Range Rover Sport Supercharged's fuel-economy estimates for 2018 (plus 3 mpg in the city, highway, and combined figures), but we're not convinced. With negligible changes under the hood and nothing that might affect the Rover's aerodynamics, we expect its performance would be very similar to our real-world fuel-economy testing.

We've devised our own fuel-economy test in an attempt to replicate how most people drive on the highway. Our procedure entails a 200-mile out-and-back loop on Michigan's I-94 highway. We maintain a GPS-verified 75 mph and use the cruise control as much as possible to mimic the way many drivers behave during long trips.
