Genesis Will Give You All The Korean Luxury For $68,100
Luxury buyers have lots of options when it comes to full-size sedans, but if somebody wanted to spend under $70,000 for a smooth-sailing executive car, so far, the Cadillac CT6 has been the only choice, which starts well under its competition at $53,495 (plus destination charge).
For that kind of money, GM only gives you a turbocharged four-cylinder, while Hyundai's base Genesis G90 packs a twin-turbo V6 and a lot of equipment for $68,100 (plus $950 freight charge). Mind you, Cadillac's range-topping twin-turbo V6 starts lower at $65,390, and the CT6 is only slightly smaller than a Genesis G90.
If you want all-wheel drive with your 2017 G90, Genesis will charge you $70,600, or $72,200 for the V8 AWD car. The rear-wheel drive version of the 5.0 V8 starts at $69,700.
Either one you choose, the list of standard equipment includes:
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection
Driver Attention Alert (DAA)
Smart Blind Spot Detection (SBSD) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)
Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Dynamic Bending Light (DBL) and High Beam Assist
Pre-safety seat belt and nine airbags
Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start
Electronic Parking Brake with Automatic Vehicle Hold
Multi-view and forward-view cornering camera
Front and rear parking sensors

America certainly likes a good value proposition, but can an import with brand heritage beat Cadillac? I guess we'll need to drive them back-to-back to answer that.
