Georgia Trooper Checks A BMW X5 Hard

Of all the state troopers we wouldn’t want to mess with, Georgia is high on the list. We’ve seen some crazy PIT maneuvers and other ways Georgia State Patrol has ended pursuits, showing they’re not afraid to do what’s necessary. When the call came in for a stolen BMW X5 traveling through the state, one trooper answered and put the smack down when the suspect fled.

Watch Georgia troopers smack down a fleeing murder suspect in a Dodge Dart.

The trooper was already looking for the Bimmer after he was informed it was traveling on Interstate 20 in the area. It didn’t take long for him to find the vehicle, performing a traffic stop. While the guy in the stolen ride pulled over, he did the old trick of punching it once the cop steps out of his car.

So many criminals think that’s super clever, but the trooper doesn’t skip a beat. He’s back in his cruiser and on the suspect in no time, almost like he was anticipating such a move.

From there the BMW swims through the light traffic on the interstate with a certain grace. We’re guessing the suspect has done something like this a few times before since he seems so practiced at it.

But the trooper is also practiced and stays up enough to exit when the suspect does. After blasting through some turns and a parking lot, the X5 slows to almost a stop, having lost sight of the trooper. We guess the guy thought he lost his tail, but why would he just sit there if that’s the case?

That slip-up allows the trooper to catch back up, then PIT the BMW as the suspect yet again tries to flee. Only it’s not a regular PIT, more like one that keeps on going until the vehicle is pinned against the guard rail on the side of the road.

Had this been done at higher speeds we have no doubt the result would’ve been a rollover, possibly something even worse. But the trooper knows what he’s doing, realizing at a low speed the suspect could easily drive right out of a regular PIT maneuver, making something more prolonged necessary. It certainly did the trick.
