Gilliland signs multiyear extension with Front Row

Front Row Motorsports has signed Todd Gilliland to a multiyear contract extension.

“Todd and his family have been with my family and the team for a very long time,” said team owner Bob Jenkins. “We’ve watched him grow, mature, and show all his potential behind (the wheel of) our truck and car. It’s now his time to lead us into our next phase of winning races and being a consistent playoff contender.”

Gilliland, 24, is in his third year driving a Ford Mustang for Front Row Motorsports. He had a career year in 2023 with a single-season high in top-10 finishes and overall average finish.

The car number and partners for Gilliland were not announced, as Front Row Motorsports will be expanding in 2025. The organization will field three full-time entries after buying a third charter, with Gilliland driving one of the entries and two other drivers still to be confirmed. Michael McDowell is leaving the organization after this season. McDowell drives the No. 34 Ford and Gilliland is currently driving the No. 38.

“We want to build on his momentum, rising star power, and continue our partnerships and build new ones that will allow him to compete for wins,” said general manager Jerry Freeze. “Announcing our recent intentions for our growth in 2025 and extending Todd’s contract for multiple years allows our focus to aggressively build an even better program for Todd.”

Gilliland has seven top-10 finishes in 87 career starts. Before moving into the Cup Series with Front Row Motorsports, Gilliland drove the team’s Craftsman Truck Series entry for two seasons, winning one race.

“I want to be at Front Row Motorsports and I want to be a part of what’s happening right now,” Gilliland said. “This is the time to join as a partner, a fan, and watch our next chapter. It’s really cool to see it all happening, and I have to thank Bob Jenkins and Jerry Freeze for their commitment in taking the steps to make us a consistent winning and playoff organization. It’s never easy, but I feel confident in our direction. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
