‘We’re going streaking!’ Texas A&M baseball gives viewers more than they paid for thanks to viral streaker

On Tuesday night in front of over 7,000 fans inside Olsen Field, Texas A&M (15-10) took on their in-state rivals the Texas Longhorns in a heated mid-week battle, but instead of the game itself making the headlines in what was eventually a hard-fought 5-2 victory for the 19th-ranked Longhorns, an unidentified streaker rushed the field in the middle of the contest in an idiotic fashion.

The young man who has since been identified as none other than 19-year-old Spencer Werner, who according to the Houston Chronicle has been charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct/exposure, (it gets better), is actually a freshman student-athlete and member of the cross country team at Texas A&M.

Here’s a short background on Spencer Werner: Spencer Werner hails from Wilmette, Illinois, and attended Loyola Academy during high school. He was named the SEC’s men’s freshman runner of the week on Sept. 20, 2022, after finishing eighth at the Texas A&M Invitational, Werner had a time of 24:37 (a 4:57 per mile pace) in the 8,000-meter race.

Werner really went all out in terms of his wardrobe, or lack thereof during his five minutes of fame, donning a Darth Maul mask (Central villain in Star Wars Episode 1), while holding a “Longhorns Suck” sign with the message “Trump 2024” painted on his chest, all during his 5th-inning jaunt that seriously ticked off in-game announcer Clay Matvick, who didn’t want to give the interruption even a smidgen of attention.

After making his way to center field, Werner successfully jumped the fence line as police waited for his arrival, where he surrendered immediately. With that, one of the dumbest, and funniest moments of the week ended, and all young Spencer received were a couple of criminal charges and a suspension from the cross-country team; Mission accomplished.
