Yahoo Autos This Grassroots Swedish Racing Series is Full of Professional-Grade Action
We all love watching videos of FIA Global Rallycross cars smashing into each other mid-air and battling out on courses around the world, but what if someone wanted to get into the action themselves? Welcome to Folk Racing.
Folk Racing is a down-to-earth, grassroots racing series in Sweden that isn't all that different from your local WRC event. It's full of sliding, jumps, and a serious amount of contact. The difference? The cost of entry, of course. All you need is a working, two-wheel-drive, naturally aspirated car with a cage, and that's it.
Unsurprisingly, there's a catch. At the end of every race, any car in the field can be bought for around 6500 Swedish Krona, or $753. This stops people from dumping too much money into their cars, and keeps racing costs low.
