Ford CEO Jim Farley is a pretty good lunch companion. We’ve had lunch with him before. But is he $75,000 worth of good company? That’s what the high bidder paid for the mid-day meal with the boss as part of a charity auction held on Bring a Trailer yesterday.

“This charity auction offers its winner a unique behind-the-scenes experience: sitting down for lunch trackside with genuine car guy, gentleman racer, and Ford global CEO Jim Farley on Saturday, Aug. 20, during Monterey Car Week,” the description read, in typical straight-ahead BaT prose. “The full sale amount from this charity auction (including the BaT buyer’s fee) will benefit the Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation—a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving the enjoyment of, and access to, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.”

The lunch will be held in the paddock of Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca between Farley’s track sessions in his 1966 Cobra and ’78 Lola T298. No word on what will be on the menu.

The winning bidder, identified only as Nico2015, a regular on BaT, also got:

  • Two VIP passes for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

  • VIP parking

  • Driver’s Lounge access for two

  • Hot laps in the right seat with a pro driver

Regular race attendees can get general admission and paddock pass for $80. But you have to eat lunch all by yourself.
