Harley vs Indian Exhibit at The Petersen Museum

Harley vs Indian Exhibit at The Petersen Museum

The history of the intense competition between Indian and Harley-Davidson is the subject of a new exhibit at The Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. The opening reception is set for Thursday, March 7, 7 - 10 pm.

The recent racing renewal of the Harley/Indian rivalry in this yearā€™s American Flat Track Series makes this a timely exhibit. Visitors will see period photos from the original eras of boardtrack, hillclimb and flattrack racing, when both Milwaukee and Springfield sponsored strong professional teams. And vintage racing and production machines from the turn of the century to the 1950s.

"If you ever attended a motorcycle race at the legendary Ascot Park on its fast 1/2 mile dirt, you saw history being made,ā€ said J. C Agajanian Jr. ā€œThese incredible champions of flat track racing considered their careers complete only with an Ascot win. I suggest you make a stop at "The Pete" to see the motorcycle history that came before Ascot...."

Reception tickets available online at www.petersen.org/harley-indian or call (323) 930 2277. Members $25.00, non-members $35.00.
