Hellcat-Powered Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk Prototype Spied on the Street
Wanna hear a Jeep with 707 belt-fed supercharged horses? Yeah, hell yeah you do.
YouTuber Sinister Life spied this lightly-camouflaged Jeep Grand Cherokee rumbling down the thoroughfare somewhere in the greater Detroit area. From the jump, it looks like just a regular, naturally-aspirated, 470-horse Grand Cherokee SRT.
But dig those pocket hood scoops, a telltale that sets Hellcat-powered Chargers and Challengers apart from their lesser siblings. And the big-inch Brembo brakes. And, right around the 2:15 mark in the video, the faint but unmistakeable sound of a belt-driven supercharger, which we've heard emanating from Jeep prototypes before.
Yes friends. It's a Hellcat.
Our pal Sinister Life claims he could see a full roll cage mounted inside the Jeep, which lends credence to his theory: This is a development mule, one of the final test vehicles logging miles before the 707-horsepower super-Jeep sees production in the summer of 2017.
We're excited. Just like Sinister Life and the buddies who were riding with him.
