Here's Your First Look at the Upcoming Mercedes-Benz Pickup Truck

From Road & Track

Last year, when Mercedes announced its plans to build a pickup truck, we were as surprised as anyone else. Technically, the G63 AMG 6x6 was a truck, but it was built in tiny numbers. Mercedes has built work vans for a number of years, but a pickup would be quite a departure.

But the Mercedes pickup truck is really happening, and the concept reveal is planned for next week. The only thing is, no one actually has any clue what it will look like. We saw a test vehicle in the wild last month, but it didn't exactly give any production details away. Heck, even knowing it's based on the Nissan Navara isn't very helpful.

Today, though, Mercedes released a teaser video ahead of the upcoming concept reveal. From what we can tell, the concept (potentially called the GLT or X-Class) will be more S-Class than Metris. The last few seconds clearly show a traditional truck profile, but you can also see car-like headlights and a sleek front end.

Look for more next Tuesday when the pickup truck concept makes its official debut.
