Last year, Hyundai revealed to the world its first electric car to receive the high-performance N treatment, the Ioniq 5 N. With a handsome design, big power, and a drift mode, the only question that remained was how much? Now we have that answer.

Hyundai on Tuesday announced the pricing for the high-performance EV. The Ioniq 5 N will start at $67,475 including the $1,375 freight charge. That makes it the most expensive Hyundai that you can buy. However, the 641-horsepower dual-motor EV with AWD and rally-inspired handling offers plenty of performance for the price.

The Ioniq 5 N will set you back over $24,000 more than the base SE Standard Range model. But, the base car is a 168-horsepower rear-wheel drive unit that is all about efficiency. The Ioniq 5 N is a track weapon with a plethora of features that make it stand out from other Ioniq 5 models. From a price perspective. the Ioniq 5 N slots neatly between the performance EV offerings from Hyundai Motor Group brands Kia and Genesis. The Kia EV6 GT starts at just under $63,000 and the Genesis GV60 Performance is a touch over $71,000. The Ioniq 5 N is substantially more powerful than both.

The Ioniq 5 N is rated at 601 horsepower thanks to its dual-motor setup with a combined 448 kW and an 84.0-kWh battery pack. However, a press of the N Grin Boost button provides the driver with 40 additional horsepower (30 kW) for 10 seconds. This. combined with N Launch control, will get the Ioniq 5 N to 60 mph in a claimed 3.25 seconds.

These features include N Battery Preconditioning, N Race, N Pedal, N Brake Regen, N Drift Optimizer, N Torque Distribution, N Active Sound +, N e-shift, and Track SOC. The Ioniq 5 N also rolls on 275/35R21 Pirelli P Zero summer tires, and the most powerful braking system ever installed on a Hyundai to slow it all down.

The Ioniq 5 N will be available in a single, fully equipped trim at Hyundai dealers later this month.
