These Are the High-Tech Shocks That Make the Ford Raptor Desert-Ready

From Road & Track

The SVT Raptor version of Ford's F150 has been a huge hit for everyone the automotive community. The hardcore off-roading variant of the most popular vehicle in America is understandably quite popular. Ford is about to put the newest generation Raptor into production, and it made a video just to show off the Raptor's signature feature: its hardcore suspension.

The new shocks, made by Fox Racing, have 13 inches of travel in the front, and 13.9 in the rear. That's up to two inches more than the previous car, meaning the Raptor can take even more of a beating in the wilderness. There's also variable damping rates, better ground clearance, and improved approach/departure angles.

While that's all pretty sweet, we can't get over just how cool the Raptor looks navigating the harsh desert terrain. Take a look for yourself to see what we're talking about.
