Holy Crap: There's a Road-Legal McLaren P1 GTR For Sale
Despite the fact that McLaren built just 375 P1 hypercars, they come up for sale surprisingly often. This one, though, is as far from an ordinary P1 as you can get. It's not just one of only 45 P1 GTRs built by McLaren, but one of only a handful to be made road legal. Yes, this is about as special as a P1 gets.
It's listed for sale by Dutch dealer Carlink International on James Edition, and unsurprisingly, it's expensive. Like $3.6 million expensive, although, this is a heck of a lot of car for the money.
For starters, it's painted in this lovely shade called Cerulean Blue, and it's only driven 152 miles since new. Oh, and there's its powerplant–the standard P1 makes 903 horsepower from its hybrid V8 drivetrain, but the GTR makes an astounding 986. It's also got all sorts of wings and splitters to help keep that power on the road, and a race-car cockpit.
The dealer says its registered in the UK, but we think it'll probably be a challenge to get it road-legal in the U.S. Of course, if you can afford this sort of thing, you can probably figure out how to get it on the street.
