  • Honda is planning to debut a new global EV series at CES 2024.

  • Honda says it will showcase the new EV models as well as key technologies that illustrate the company's ongoing transformation.

  • As part of its announcement, the automaker released a teaser image, which appears to show an EV concept car that will debut at CES in January.

As part of its stated goal to introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030 and reach a sales volume of 2 million vehicles, Honda is planning to debut a new global EV series at CES 2024. The manufacturer has issued a goal of 100 percent zero-emission cars in North America by 2040, which it says will include both battery-electric vehicles and fuel-cell electric vehicles.

According to Honda, it will host a booth on-site at CES as well as a dedicated website to showcase the series. Honda says that the booth will showcase the global EV series models, as well as "several key technologies that illustrate the significant transformation Honda is currently undergoing."

A New EV Concept?

As part of the announcement, Honda released a teaser image which appears to show some sort of (presumably) electric concept car that will debut at the show. We can see a squared-off front end that looks incredibly low to the ground and slopes up at a pretty steep angle. Most of the vehicle is shrouded, but what looks like a pixelated wheel design can be seen poking through the darkness.

The 2024 Prologue is set to arrive imminently. It's Honda's second attempt at an EV for North America after the oft-maligned Clarity. Unlike the concept car Honda is teasing now, the Prologue features more subtle styling that doesn't scream so much as whisper its eco-friendly nature.

Honda also revealed that it will be transforming business operations to align with the new global brand slogan, “The Power of Dreams – How we move you.” According to Honda, the slogan describes how its products and services will “transcend various constraints such as time and place,” and to “augment their abilities and possibilities.” Your guess is as good as ours as to what that jargon means in reality.
