WRC prototypes are white, while the WTCC/BTCC cars getting ready for their shakedowns are usually black. That's just the way it goes. And now that the latest Civic Type R BTCC machine is here, you might find an appealing alternative to the factory rear-end of Honda's hot hatch. Also, just look at that rear stance!

Honda finished third in the British Touring Car Championship last year behind BMW and Subaru, while in WTCC, it had a good run against Polestar, only to finish second. Testing of the new body style starts this week in Spain at Parcmotor Castellolí, where triple champ Matt Neal and newcomer Dan Cammish will get a first taste.

The rules have stayed roughly the same for 2018, with all cars being built to the FIA's Next Generation Touring Car specs for the eighth season running. That means 2.0 direct injection turbo engines, six speed sequential-shift gearboxes, AP Racing brakes and Cosworth electronics. There will be four factory teams in the 2018 BTCC season: BMW, Subaru, Vauxhall (Opel) and Honda.
