The New Honda Civic Si Will Debut at the LA Auto Show

From Road & Track

Since we first drove the new Honda Civic, we've been looking forward to the inevitable Si version. So far, Honda hasn't revealed much information on the upcoming sporty Civic, but now we know when we'll get to see it for the first time-at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show.

Shown above, the concept version of the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe, which debuted at the New York International Auto Show in early 2015.

That info comes from the LA Auto Show itself. With the show kicking off on November 16th, we only have a few more weeks to wait. Hopefully Honda has production specs ready at the time of its reveal-we expect it to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 220 or 230 horsepower and, of course, a six-speed manual.

While we're grateful to get the chance to see the 10th-generation Civic Si, we have a feeling it will be vastly overshadowed by the upcoming Civic Type-R, which was recently revealed in concept car form, and which will be the first Type-R-badged Honda to officially be imported to the U.S. Considering the current, Europe-only Type-R makes 306 turbocharged horses and once owned the Nurburgring lap record for production front-wheel-drive cars, we expect big things.
